2009 Mid-Winter Conference of the Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs
Training in a Culture of Competence
Our 2009 Mid-Winter meeting will focus on the skills and strategies Training Directors need to ensure competence among doctoral students and new psychologists. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Nadya Fouad, will introduce the Competence Assessment Toolkit, which includes an array of assessment strategies that programs can adopt to assess student learning outcomes. Dr. Linda Forrest and Dr. Nancy Elman will lead a workshop focusing on Strategies for Working with Students not Demonstrating Competence. Together, these two key events will provide Training Directors with a host of ideas to share with program faculty and students.
In addition to these major events, the Mid-Winter meeting will include numerous opportunities for Training Directors to interact around critical issues in training and participate in shaping CCPTP priorities for the coming year. Last, but not least, the Mid-Winter meeting will include several opportunities to socialize and take advantage of a great network of colleagues. So join us in the beautiful city of Savannah for excellent company and thought-provoking conversation.
